  1. I received my copy about three weeks ago, so I’ve had much time to look through it. Overall, a good piece of work and a worthy successor to the 1971 book.
On the minus side, the book is littered with dozens of small defects. Most of these are of little consequence e.g. grammatical errors (‘is’ in place of ‘are’ crops up a few times), mis-spellings (starting on the contents page with “ornthological”), sections of repeated text etc. A spell-check and a proof-read would have fixed most of these. The only factual error I’ve found so far is in the caption to the Yellow-nosed Albatross photo (I know the tide goes out a long way at Brean, but I think it’s stretching a point to claim that that makes it an inland location…).
